Aram Baroian is born in Vienna in 1989. He studied cinematography at the Vienna Film College with Reinhold Vorschneider and Helmut Pirnat as his Mentor.
There he was able to realize several short feature films and documentaries as well as several music videos together with a working collective.
During his studies he also worked as a lighting technician on more than 30 cinema productions, TV films and TV series. He works regularly in Germany and Austria.
The 35-minute, medium-length feature film "FREIGANG" is his graduation film. The German-Austrian co-production won the Austrian Film Award in the short film category in 2020.
For his camera work on this project, he was nominated for the László Kovács Student Award at the world's most prestigious cinematography festival, the 27th Camerimage International Film Festival, and his graduation film was invited to the 2019 Official Student Competition. Aram Baroian was also nominated at the 2020 German Cinematography Award.
